COSMECEUTICAL CORRECTIVE FACIALS

Advanced facial treatments utilise high percentage cosmeceutical ingredients to target your own individual skin concerns

Each skin is unique & our facial treatments can be tailored with the very finest peels and masks to provide you with the best complexion possible

When you’re in need of more than just a little pampering and perhaps you are experiencing specific problems with your skin, go the extra mile and talk with our Skin Specialist about a cosmeceutical corrective facial treatment. Think of a corrective facial treatment as a workout for your skin, because it helps to get it into top shape.

At Nascent Skin and Beauty Clinic we can offer you a series of clinical cosmeceutical corrective facial treatments, each facial having been formulated to provide solutions for your specific concerns with the incorporation of Advanced “Active Ingredient” Serums with proven technology that has been clinically tested. These serums contain active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA’s at high active concentrations, and have the ability to create a structural change within the skin.

Put simply, a cosmeceutical when applied topically, is an ‘active‘ skin product which is able to penetrate to the dermal layer and evoke a biological change in the dermis. It is here that collagen, elastin and cellular activity takes place within the skin, which is why we want cosmeceuticals working hard at this level. These changes may include reducing fine linesdeeply hydrating the skinreducing excessive oil production or addressing sun damaged and pigmented skin.

In addition to Cosmeceutical Corrective Facials we also offer Clinical Chemical PeelsIntense Pulsed Light Photorejuvenation, LED Phototherapy, DermaFrac Fractional Infusion Therapy, Medical Micro Skin Needling, CACI Non Surgical Face Lifts & Eye Lifts, Enhanced Tissue Repair and Microdermabrasion as well as a host of your favourite beauty treatments.

For your post treatment care and daily skin regime we are Certified Practitioners and Authorised Stockists of Professional Skin Care products – available In-Clinic or from our Online Store – delivered direct to your door for your convenience.

Everyone has fallen victim to the ‘cosmetic counter myth’ at some point, with many people being an unknown target for marketing hype and mis-education. It’s our role as industry professionals to correctly educate clients, dispel myths and present our clients with the facts.

Skilled Professionals

Skin professionals are trained in educating clients on managing skin concerns and tailoring skin treatments including facials to achieve the best results for their client. Sales assistants in multi-brand mass-purchase department stores are not skilled therapists. They often lack detailed knowledge of skin and are unable to address individual skin concerns.

A trained therapist will advise clients not only of the ideal products but also on lifestyle, nutrition and treatments to address their skin concerns. When a cosmeceutical home routine is adopted in a positive way, the very best results can be achieved.

In my opinion, clinical grade skin care really does stand apart from the white noise of department store brands. If the client is prepared to take the time to research the best cosmeceutical brands and the right skin therapist, great results (we don’t mean seven day miracles)

What is a ‘Cosmetic’ Product as opposed to a ‘Cosmeceutical’ Product?

The term ‘Cosmetic’ refers to a product classed as a skin beautifying product that remains purely on the surface of the skin. A cosmetic can include cleansers, toners and moisturisers, and will effectively maintain your skin by providing somewhat temporary results. A cosmetic may contain active ingredientshowever these actives will be at a low concentration.

More than 90% of ‘cosmetic’ over-the-counter skincare products contain ‘inactive’ filler ingredients, which do little more than sit on top of our skin to plump up dead surface skin cells. The truth is, this skin is essentially ‘dead’ and should actually be gently removed, not moisturised.

‘Cosmetics’ are unable to create any structural changes within the skin. Cosmetics account for the bulk of skin care used by consumers and are generally purchased in a supermarket, pharmacy or department store. Cosmetics are not generally prescribed by a qualified professional.

COSMECEUTICAL products have been around since the early 1980’s. The term ‘Cosmeceutical’ is most likely no more than a hybrid of the words ‘cosmetic’ and ‘pharmaceutical’, which hints to its scientific and medical origin.

Cosmeceuticals contain active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA’s at high active concentrations, and have the ability to create a structural change within the skin

A cosmeceutical when applied topically, is an ‘active’ skin product which is able to penetrate to the dermal layer and evoke a biological change in the dermis. It is here that collagen, elastin and cellular activity takes place within the skin which is why we want cosmeceuticals working hard at this level. These changes may include reducing fine lines, deeply hydrating the skin, reducing excessive oil production or addressing sun damaged and pigmented skin.

Cosmeceutical products correct not only past and present concerns, but also have the ability to provide prevention for the future. They incorporate advancements in encapsulation, nano technology and peptides, as well as containing high grade chirally correct ‘active ingredients’, ensuring a more effective and results oriented approach to skin care.

Cosmeceutical products and treatments contain proven technology that is clinically tested, with the highest percentage of active ingredients without a prescription and can only be purchased through professional skin clinics and surgeries with trained and qualified professionals.

Packaging vs Product

It is imperative to know the contents of the products you are using and your therapist should be able to give you an accurate and detailed breakdown of the product and its benefits to you. High street brands often spend more money on marketing and packaging than on the actual product inside the bottle. Cost and economics are driving factors for this sector and the level of ingredients may be insufficient to give results.
